About Dark Sky Campout
Sky Meadows State Park in Delaplane is a designated International Dark Sky Park, one of the best places near home to see the Milky Way. Scouts hike in to the primitive campsites, set up camp, and spend the evening stargazing and practicing cold-weather camping skills.
Hike-in camping with full packs.
Night-sky observing: constellations, planets and the Milky Way.
Cold-weather layering, sleep systems and warm camp cooking.
A great chance to work on Astronomy merit badge requirements.
